At the Survival Camp is a complete 2-lesson ESL package designed for upper primary and lower secondary students. Students learn useful survival and camping vocabulary while taking part in challenges that get them thinking, discussing, making decisions and using English with a purpose.

Instead of simply learning a list of words, students have to decide what they would take on an expedition, solve survival situations, explain what different pieces of equipment are used for, rank items from most to least important, and justify their choices. The package culminates in a fun “Would You Survive?” challenge, where students put their survival instincts to the test.

The package includes 2 ready-to-teach lessons, with a clear suggested sequence so teachers know exactly how to use the activities.

Students practise vocabulary such as rope, fishing rod, binoculars, shelter, needle and thread, whistle, rucksack, plasters, matches, frying pan, knife, tent, sleeping bag, torch/flashlight and more.
